Here are a Few Brilliant Ways Pets are Secretly Helping Their Owners Live Healthier Lives
Are you thinking about getting a pet? Well while you’re considering that major life
decision, take a look at the many ways pets can benefit your health:
1. May lower cholesterol, reduce blood pressure and reduce your
cardiovascular disease risk
If you have a dog, you will most likely being doing a bit of walking, which is
good for you heart. Oh, and pet owners tend to live longer!
2. Help Relieve Stress
Petting our beloved pets causes us to release the relaxation hormone and
also cuts down on levels of the stress hormones. Not to mention the fact
that it sooths your pet as well!
3. Boost your fitness
Having a dog will keep you moving. You’ll need to take him/her out
morning noon and night which will definitely get you off that couch! Plus,
who doesn’t love to see their dog enjoying the great outdoors?!
4. May prevent allergies in children
Babies living in pet households are less likely to develop allergies. They also
don’t seem to develop as many colds and ear infections as babies living in

Having a companion helps many people cope with depression. It also gives
them a reason for being. Pets rely on their owners for everything, which
gives some people a cause. This boosts their self esteem and the time spent
with their animals gives them less time to focus on negative thoughts. An
animal’s love is unconditional and that’s all someone needs sometimes.
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to head out to the nearest shelter ASAP.
But seriously, having a pet is a major responsibility. However, if you are in the
condition to have one, both financially and schedule-wise, I strongly suggest it.
People are great, but no one can cheer you up like a pet. They need you and you
end up relying on them for a lot of things as well. Although the training of a pet
may be tough initially, nothing compares to the unconditional love and support
you will receive from them. And since it’s been proven that they can actually
improve your health, it’s pretty much a no-brainer.
